Flash Electronics AnnouncesNew VP Supply Chain Management
Latchman Venkatesh Expected to Lead US Team and Build Global Supply Strategy
FREMONT, Calif. (May 4, 2004) – Flash Electronics announces Latchman Venkatesh as new vice president of supply chain management responsible for material processes, planning and supply chain assurance for all of Flash’s US sites. In accordance with the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive electronic manufacturing services for the demanding needs of the OEM market, the added key management position reflects Flash Electronics’ drive to stay competitive. Latchman Venkatesh previously held executive management positions at Tier 1 EMS companies such as Sanmina, where he was vice president of supply chain, Solectron and Canesta. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in human development and a Master of Arts degree in procurement and contract manufacturing from St. Mary’s College.

Latchman will also ensure that our internal strategies merge effectively with our customer’s strategies and needs with respect to all aspects of the supply chain.”
Within a month time, Latchman Venkatesh has outlined for the Flash team, an aggressive plan to reduce supply chain complexities. Among his career accomplishments, he has created lean supply chains in the US and Asia, negotiated billion-dollar contracts, improved purchasing efficiencies in the double digits and increased delivery performance almost 100% within a year by collaborating directly with customers to understand their forecast patterns.
Flash Electronics already excels in its responsibilities of supply chain management. Customers and suppliers have been able to efficiently handle inventory, count on flexibility and save time and money. A streamlined approach to supply chain management is vital with the increasingly collaborative and competitive nature of the contract manufacturing business. Flash Electronics will marry the work of the supply management and manufacturing teams at the US and China sites to wield a dense pool of suppliers and distribution partners to deliver quality, flexibility and production solutions to customers.
Wendy Warren Joins Flash Electronics Logistics and Materials Team
Also new to management team is Wendy Warren, logistics manager for Flash Electronics US. Her responsibilities include enabling international customs and trade strategies, fulfillment and warehousing. She is a scholarly member of the Professional Association of Exporters and Importers (PAEI) and has two decades of expertise working with the regulations of the Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) from several international sites. Wendy Warren will work with Latchman Venkatesh to execute a flexible, efficient global logistics plan at Flash Electronics.
Future plans for the Flash team include online reporting capabilities for customers. Access to work in progress and expedite reports, cost analysis, logistics, and compliance information tied to internal data pools on inventory, suppliers and production will advance manufacturing cycle times.
