News + Press Releases NEWSRELEASE FLASH ELECTRONICS APPOINTS DAVID PELLONE TO NEW POST OF VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE Fremont, CA - January 4, 2001 ?Flash Electronics, Inc., a leading Silicon Valley contract electronics manufacturing (CEM) company, today announced the appointment of David Pellone to the post of Vice President of Finance. In this newly created position Mr. Pellone will serve as chief financial officer (CFO), with responsibility for a wide-range of financial and strategic business activities. These include fiscal planning, financial processes and management, business development, partnerships and mergers & acquisitions. Commenting on Mr. Pellone's new assignment, Chairman Matthew Liu said: "Flash has enjoyed a period of tremendous growth during its first 6 years of existence. David Pellone has over 20 years of top financial management experience with technology-driven, global manufacturing organizations. His expertise ranges from investment banking and IPOs to financial management of manufacturing operations in China, Israel and Europe. Prior to joining Flash, Mr. Pellone was VP of Finance & CFO at RAE Systems for over one year, and at Dual Systems, Inc. for five years. These Silicon Valley companies have proprietary major products and operations overseas. His previous experience included a decade in the semiconductor capital equipment industry, where he held key finance and accounting posts in the Bay Area with A.G. Associates, Genus, Inc. and GenRad. David's early career included eight years with 3M Company. Mr. Pellone's career is highlighted by diverse accomplishments in corporate finance and management. They include acquisitions of development-stage companies, divestiture of divisions, complete sale of companies, and the establishment of subsidiaries in England, Germany, Japan, Israel, China and Hong Kong. Capital funding activities included lease lines, credit lines, private funding, IPOs, secondary offerings and convertible debentures. David Pellone earned his MBA degree in Finance/Accounting, from Santa Clara University and received his BS degree in Operations Management from Kent State University. As an avocation, for the past decade David has taught accounting/finance courses at six Bay Area colleges, at both the undergraduate and graduate school levels.
